Bert and I are using Held-saddlebags. It is possible - though not too comfortable - to put an A4 folder into it, although it has rounded corners.
If you`re in need to do so I would recommend some sort of rucksack however. I´ve discovered people giving me strange looks when entering a courtroom with a saddlebag in my hand, no reactions however when using a rucksack, although in both ways it is clearly to be seen that I have come by bike, since I do have my helmet in the other hand.
